A successful software exit is rarely an accident. Serious acquisition buyers look far beyond headline revenue figures; they evaluate the friction, technical debt, and transferability of the underlying operations.
First, disconnect personal infrastructure. Ensure your production domains, GitHub repositories, cloud servers, and Stripe or Razorpay sub-accounts are neatly segregated from personal projects.
Second, compile honest unit metrics. Track Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Annual Run Rate (ARR), churn percentages, customer acquisition costs, and refund volumes over the last 12 months. Disclose any customer concentration risks upfront.
Finally, write clear transition documentation. A concise overview of your technology stack, environmental variables, deployment pipelines, and third-party API dependencies gives buyers confidence and drastically accelerates closing timelines.
