Marketplace Trends & Valuation Report

Understand comparison data and the limits of marketplace asking-price benchmarks.

Current data coverage

  • SellMyWeb does not yet publish a representative dataset of completed sale prices. This guide therefore does not claim market-wide median multiples or average deal sizes.
  • Public listing prices describe seller expectations. They should not be presented as confirmed transaction prices.

Compare like with like

  • Group comparable businesses by business model, currency, revenue, margin, age, and verification coverage.
  • Record sample size, date range, missing data, and whether prices are asking prices or completed sales.
  • Avoid comparing subscription MRR with one-time revenue, or mixing currencies without a dated conversion method.

Watch business fundamentals

  • Review retention, customer concentration, organic versus paid traffic, operating costs, and owner workload.
  • Use verified provider data where available and investigate material changes across periods.
  • Treat a small sample as descriptive evidence rather than a forecast. Revisit your assumptions during due diligence.

Use these guides as a starting point for your transaction checks. Provider requirements and the facts of each business determine the final handover.
